How do I become a Sea Lanes Member?
Further details can be found on our membership page.

Will membership be seasonal?
No, the membership will run all year as the pool will remain open.

What do I get for my Sea Lanes membership?
Sea Lanes members can use the pool at any time during opening hours. Members can also swim at Wadurs Swimming Pool and gym usage at Southwick Leisure Centre. Sea Lanes Members receive 50% discount for adult coaching at Sea Lanes.

How do I book the gym at Southwick Leisure Centre and swimming at Wadurs Swimming Pool
We suggest using the South Downs Leisure app to make all your bookings. Use the tile “Switch Centres” and select the centre of your choice.

Will there be pay as you go options?
Yes, non members are welcome. Cost is £11.00 per session per person for a swim | £7 Under 18’s/60+. £12.00 for adult coaching. Please note, we do not offer refunds unless we have a pool closure.

What size is the pool?
The pool is a 50m pool.

How many lanes does the pool have
6 x 2m lanes meaning the swimming pool has the capacity to hold 90-100 swimmers comfortably at any one time.

Do you offer refunds to non members
Our Terms and Conditions state:-
A refund will not be given to non-members.

Any bookings that are paid for in advance are not transferable or refundable

Is the swimming pool a sea water pool?
No, the pool is chlorinated.

Will the pool be heated all year round?
Yes, the pool will be heated all year round.  We aim to keep this temperature at 19 degrees.

Will the pool be open if there is a thunderstorm?
Please check the website (top bar) if we have to suddenly close the pool.

Do I need to wear a swim hat in the pool?
Yes, all swimmers are required to wear a swim hat.

Can I bring a lilo?
Sea Lanes is a national open water training pool and lilo’s are not permitted in the pool.

Are there sunbeds around the pool?

What are the opening times be?
Monday – Friday: 06:00 – 21:30
Saturday: 06:30 – 19:00
Sunday: 06:30 – 20:00

Do I need to book a swim/adult coaching
Yes, please pre-book you activity via our app, online booking website or give us a call on 01273 044163

How do I book a swim?
The easiest way to book is by downloading the app. Select the centre Sea Lanes.

How do I book for more than one person
Bookings need to be in the name of the account. Users will need individual accounts to book. Please speak to a customer advisor at reception.

Do you sell Gift Vouchers?
Yes, gift vouchers are available at reception. Buy a swim voucher or one month membership today.

What is the name of the app to make bookings
Search for South Downs Leisure in the Google/App Store.

How long is each swim session
Each session is 1 hour long. Sessions start on the hour, 20 minutes past the hour, 20 minutes to the hour.

Will there be bike racks and parking?
As an award winning Sustainable Trust, we suggest green travelling to and from Sea Lanes.

  • Cycling
    There are an abundance of bike racks available.
  • Walking
    Accessible routes along the seafront both and east and west of Sea Lanes.
  • Buses
    Please find the bus routes for Brighton and Hove or you may like to download the Brighton and Hove app. Travelling east to Sea Lanes, here are the timetables for Stagecoach.
  • Train
    Nearest train station is Brighton. There are various buses that run from the station to Madeira Drive.
  • Car Parking
    There is Pay and Display along Madeira Drive.

Where can I leave my belongings
Lockers are available to store your belongings at own risk. Please either bring your own padlock or these can be purchased for £6.00 at reception.

When do bookings open
Bookings are now open.
Sea Lanes and FIT4 Members can book up to 7 days in advance and non members up to 3 days in advance.
We suggest you download the South Downs Leisure app.

How do I get my username and password for bookings?
Your username is the email address that was registered when creating your account.
Please reset your password to create a new password

What is access control
There will be an access control gate inside reception that you will need to scan (using the South Downs Leisure app) the QR code in order to be allowed access in to the changing rooms. All swims and adult coaching must be pre-booked in order to gain access in to the changing areas and pool.

How do I scan the QR code for access control
Please ensure you have downloaded the South Downs Leisure app. You will see there is a tile “Access Control”. Hold your device approximately 20 centimetres away from the QR code once you have clicked on the “Access Control” tile. Please ensure you have turned on your location on your device and are using the FREE wifi.

What happens if I do not have a mobile phone to scan the QR code for access control
Not a problem. Please see a customer advisor in reception.

Is there FREE wifi
Yes, please search for Guests-SeaLanes. No password required

How do I cancel my membership?

Please complete the online form to action your request.
Upon receipt of cancellation request, 1 further payment is required, membership will continue for 1 further calendar month
