• 50m open air swimming pool to begin construction in Autumn 2022
  • Pool set to open Spring 2023
  • Commercial units delayed due to damage from Speed Trials

Construction of the small business units at Sea Lanes Brighton began in May with foundations now completed, however they have now been delayed due to damage caused at the Speed Trials on 3rd September.

The 50m swimming pool is still on track to begin construction in October and opening in Spring 2023.

Local Leisure Trust, South Downs Leisure confirmed to operate the swimming pool and the development will create over one hundred new jobs for the local area including lifeguards, a pool general manager and a learn to swim coordinator.

Hove Village Nursery, Bison Beer, Wood X Coal and FIKA are all confirmed as part of Sea Lanes and only two small business units remain available.

Joe McNulty, Sea Lanes Brighton Director, explains:

It is frustrating that the crash during the annual Speed Trials caused damage to a wall that has impacted our construction of the small business units at Sea Lanes.   We will soon be back on track and are pleased to be welcoming local businesses to Sea Lanes.  If any other local businesses are interested we still have two units available.

“The pool is still on track and will provide the much-needed swimming facilities in Brighton. We look forward to welcoming you all to the first National Open Water Swimming Centre of Excellence next spring.
